Brighton – get Undercover! (part 1)

Undercover Festival moved venues this year, they gathered up the lights, gaffer tape and miles of cables and headed up to Brighton Racecourse for Undercover 4.

It was an early start and arrived at the venue to find it shrouded in mist. Security guys were milling around waiting for the crowds to start arriving. Thanks to the guys on the front entrance, who were really helpful, I was in and off to find my pass. Folk with guitars and drum kits were walking into the venue to set up for the day.

I am not going to write much, I am going to let the photos, and there are a few!, tell the story. If you went and you have found this article – well I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did. I found the crew to be really helpful, the actual event team were superb and the media team were just awesome – thank you James and the guys.

A huge well done to Mick for organising the event. You must have lost a good few hours sleep setting this up. You put together a great line up to suit many tastes and the entire day ran like clockwork and every thing seemed to run on time.

There was a great selection of food available outside at good prices, a massive T Shirt area and a place for bands to come out and meet the fans.

The first two bands of the day on Saturday were Punkha and Archive 45. Both put in great opening sets.

Next to take to stage 2 was the wonderful Vikki Vortex and The Cum Shots! A short, loud and lively set. Had a chat after the set with these guys and promised them some pics, so here they are!

Great to see The Piranhas 4 – and good to grab a quick word with Bob and Harry after the gig. And caught up with Bob at the end of the night, and still going strong meeting and chatting with people. The guys put in a solid performance and Bob as usually leaves you wondering how did he do that as his guitar produces such a variety of sounds. Finished the set with Tom Hark – oh yes, that’ll do nicely!

A quick dash back to Stage 1 and kicking it all down was RED. So tricky to get a photo – like trying to photo a cat on a hot tin roof! But got a few!

I stayed around for Stage 1 as Rage DC were about to kick off their set! I was looking forward to seeing them after hearing some much about them and not seeing them live…until now!
